InteCheck™ is a purpose-built digital inspection system with one of its main features designed to help offshore crews to identify and manage DROPS (Dropped Objects) risks on drilling platforms.
DROPS (Dropped Objects) are hazards caused by unsecured tools or deteriorating equipment installed at height. Whether falling tools or structural components, these incidents can lead to serious injury, equipment damage and operational disruption. Preventing DROPS is essential to safeguarding personnel and maintaining reliability in oil and gas operations.
These inspections have previously relied on paper-based systems and manual reporting, resulting in an inconsistent process which is time consuming to manage and with limited traceability. InteCheck™ transforms this with a tablet-based application that:
- Schedules inspections based on customer’s requirements e.g. daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

WHAT WAS THE INDUSTRY CHALLENGE?
Dropped objects are one of the most common safety hazards in offshore drilling operations. rig movements, vibrations and daily activities create ongoing risk, especially in elevated work areas with heavy equipment and tools.
Before InteCheck™, inspections were conducted using paper or laminated paper checklists. This inefficiency resulted in reduced inspection productivity and increased safety risks by delaying the reporting and resolution of hazards, causing a number of issues:
